My collection of line drawings.

Group Review

The drawings collected by myself and the other members formed the basis for our collages. Searching through the recommended sites was useful to find examples and assess ‘what makes a good line drawing’. The selection I chose used a contrast of lineweights and colours to create depth and texture, as well as being contextually rich.

Working as a group through our online WhatsApp group chat was helpful and efficient, as each person could comment and share their thoughts and ideas. It was also a much speedier method of getting in touch when problems arose, as I had an issue with the quality of some of the pooled images being too low – on the group people could quickly send me high quality versions immediately.

To create the collage I used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, which I am comfortable with, however for the moving section and model I use Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro. I was fortunate to have help from another student on the course from Group 1 who taught me how to manipulate the software, as well as online YouTube Tutorials.

Overall the experience was very informative – and opened up video editing software as another representation tool, something I never would have used before. I am now using what I’ve learned for my next Urban Design submission, where I will be making a short animate presentation using After Effects.
